Bearded keeper facing charity chop!

Scarborough Athletic keeper Tom Morgan is urging the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League club's fans to sponsor him when he shaves his two-year-old beard off to raise funds for a memorial garden.

The former Farsley, Guiseley, Halifax Town, Ossett Town, Tadcaster and Shaw Lane stopper, pictured, is hoping to raise £2,000 with other friends and family of Sonny Brogan-Clark who sadly lost her long battle with Cystic Fibrosis nearly a year ago.

A current memorial known as 'Sonny's Bridge' is due to be taken down and Morgan hopes supporters will help him create a special place where his friend can be remembered when his beard gets the chop at Tadcaster Albion's i2i Stadium in February.

The 33-year-old told nonleagueyorkshire.com: “Love it or hate it, my beard has been a big part of me for nearly two years. When Sonny passed away I said to her mum Anna that I would only shave it off to raise money in the name of Sonny.

“Now that time has come. So for my contribution I am allowing Anna to shave my beard off on February 11 at Tadcaster Albion FC for this special cause! Please give as much or as little as you can, it will all be greatly appreciated."
