EVO-STIK League Frickley Athletic have hailed a construction company for donating £5,000 to part fund a children's soccer school over the summer holidays and buy kit and equipment.

Wates Giving, the charitable arm of the Wates Group who are building new housing on land adjacent to the Premier Division club’s Westfield Lane ground as part of the wider redevelopment of the former colliery area, handed the cash over last week.

Frickley Athletic Chairman Gareth Dando said: “Over the past few months we’ve built a great relationship with Wates who are currently building over 350 homes on land next to the club. The company work closely with its neighbours and I’d like to thank Craig Wood and Angie Hough from Wates for their help in securing the money for the club."

He added: “We’ll be releasing details of the summer soccer school over the next few weeks so please keep an eye on the website for further information.”

* Frickley Athletic have frozen their general admission and season ticket prices for the new season.

Adults at the turnstiles will still be paying £9, concessions £6 and under 16s £3. Season tickets are again priced at £150 for adults, £95 for concessions and free to under 16s. As with previous seasons, fans are being offered an "early bird" saving of £10 for season tickets bought before August 1.

Season ticket application forms can be downloaded from the club’s official website at www.frickleyafc.co.uk.
