Blues sign X-Factor's Jake

Frickley Athletic

Frickley Athletic manager Karl Rose has signed X-Factor contestant Jake Quickenden.

The 23-year-old from Scunthorpe, who can play up front or on the wing, made it through to the final 24 on last weekend’s hit ITV talent show, pictured, and now joins Nicole Scherzinger’s Judges House while playing for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Blues.

A good friend of Frickley central defender Tom Johnston, Quickenden attended training on Tuesday evening armed with his guitar and treated the players and management to a couple of songs afterwards at Westfield Lane before signing for the club!

The Blues say Quickenden has been playing local football but, paperwork permitting, will be available to make his debut in Saturday’s FA Carlsberg Trophy tie at home to North Ferriby United. KO 3pm.
