Leek call for makeover volunteers

Leek Town are looking for volunteers to help them clear the way for their five figure Harrison Park makeover.

The Blues won a £21,925 grant from the Football Stadia Improvement Fund in August to install a brand new pitch perimeter fence and new dug-outs. The Evo-Stik NPL First Division South club's officials now expect work to start as early as next month and hope a team of volunteers will come forward to help them dismantle the old fence.

Contractors are currently due to move into Harrison Park on Monday 15 October and volunteers are asked to turn up at the ground over the previous weekend [Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 October] during normal working hours if they can lend a hand.

Leek Town officials say they are also considering asking for League permission to rearrange a number of fixtures so work can be safely completed over the two-week period it is expected to take. Any re-arrangements will be announced in due course.
