Worksop Town

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Worksop Town have confirmed the signings of Adam Quinn, Warren Burrell and Tom Burgin.

Defender Quinn, 30, is well known to Tigers fans having spent a successful period on loan at Sandy Lane from Bradford Park Avenue earlier in the season. He has now signed on loan until the end of the campaign. Burrell and Burgin both joined manager Mark Shaw's squad on Thursday from First Division South Sheffield FC.

In a statement announcing the new arrivals, Worksop’s officials revealed they had paid ‘a very small fee’ for 23-year-old Burrell who skippered Sheffield FC. The midfielder kicked off his career at Mansfield Town before turning out for Harrogate Town and Sheffield FC.

Burgin, 24, is a talented centre-half who has also played in Sweden for Sollefteå GIF, Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division rivals Buxton and Rotherham United.

Shaw, who takes his side to Barwell on Saturday in the Evo-Stik NPL's top flight, said: "Quinny is well known to us having played for us during our good spell. His experience, organisational and leadership skills are vital. He is key for us in getting things right defensively for the rest of the season.

"I know Burrell and Burgin well having managed both of them at Sheffield FC. Burrell is extremely versatile, whilst primarily an athletic centre midfielder he can also play centre half and full back, who has been Sheffield FC’s most consistent player over the last two seasons. He has great potential for the future, he is another young player we have brought into the club who will fit in well with the rest of the squad.

"Burgin is a young powerful, strong centre half who has great potential. As well as his success at Sheffield FC he has had a successful spell in Sweden. Again, he fits into the clubs ethos of bringing in and developing young players for the team."
