EVO-STIK League Stamford AFC have announced that a locally-based international company will be providing financial support for their community projects.

Delighted Daniels officials have agreed a new partnership with world-renowned manufacturing giant Cummins Generator Technologies to become the club’s community partner.

The deal will see Cummins provide annual investment to support the Daniels’ community activities over a long-term arrangement, enhancing what is already a highly successful programme.

Under the terms of the partnership, the main stand of the new Zecco Stadium at Borderville will become the Cummins Stand, while the firm will also be headline sponsors for the community pitches at Borderville Sports Centre with their logo appearing on the front of the home shirts of all the club’s youth sides, the Young Daniels.

Stamford AFC commercial manager Paul Pepper is pictured flying their new sponsor’s flag with George Swindale from Cummins, employers of more than 700 people at two sites locally and at another near Peterborough.

Pepper said: "It is fantastic to be able to announce Cummins as our community partner. We have been in negotiations with George Swindale, Marketing Communications Specialist at Cummins, for several months to make sure that our partnership suited both parties.

"Their generous support will benefit all Stamford AFC teams including our Football Development Centre and particularly their community activities in and around Stamford and Rutland."

Ian Evley, chairman of Stamford AFC Football Development Centre, added: "We are thrilled that a local company with an international reputation for excellence has chosen us to demonstrate their support of, and commitment to, the local community.

"We look forward with great enthusiasm to working with Cummins in the future for the benefit of our supporters, players, coaches and the local community in Stamford and Rutland.

"This arrangement is rare in a sporting context as it perfectly demonstrates what can be achieved when different elements of the club’s activities are integrated for a common objective. It puts us in a great place ahead of our exciting move to Borderville Sports Stadium in October."

Gareth Hopkinson, CGT’s Stamford plant manager said: "Cummins is pleased to be announced as the official community partner of Stamford AFC at the new Borderville complex.

"As part of our on-going commitment to the town, Cummins is extremely proud of its role as community partner of this new project that will provide excellent facilities to many members of the Stamford community."

He added: "This is a very exciting time for the town. Cummins is delighted to be involved and able to continue improving the communities that we live in."
