Bouncing Bucks rewarded for winning run!

EVO-STIK NPL Club of the Month Awards

If Martin McIntosh and his Buxton side can carry on producing the kind of performances that have taken the Bucks to third spot in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's top flight, they won't be short of a drop of the hard stuff to toast their success after collecting September's Club of the Month accolade.

EVO-STIK NPL representative John Beaumont is pictured at Silverlands presenting the Bucks manager and club president Chris Brindley with an inscribed certificate to mark the achievement and a 4.5 litre bottle of Bells Whiskey before one of their few recent reverses, their 2-1 defeat at the hands of league leaders Skelmersdale United.

The monthly awards are sponsored by Bostik Ltd, parent company of the Northern Premier League's title sponsors EVO-STIK, and the Bucks were unveiled at the start of the month alongside Bamber Bridge and Sutton Coldfield Town, winners of September's performance laurels in First Division North and First Division South respectively.

McIntosh's men were deserved winners of the second monthly accolade of the campaign in the Premier Division after winning eight games on the spin last month, the run including two FA Cup successes over Newcastle Benfield Saints and Ramsbottom United to reach the Third Qualifying Round.

In the league, two of their six wins came away from home with the Bucks banging in 24 goals and only conceding six as they climbed the table to consolidate one of their best starts in recent seasons.
