Brilliant Bostik ride to the rescue!

The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League’s title sponsors have been helping FC United of Manchester install a premier league flooring system able to cope with the thousands of fans expected through the turnstiles at their new home.

Broadhurst Park, being built at a cost of £5.5 million in Moston, north east Manchester, is finally set to open next month before Portuguese giants Benfica ‘officially’ open the new stadium in a friendly against the promotion-chasing Premier Division club at the end of May.

With work on the stadium nearing completion, the chance intervention of a flooring contractor who knows his Non-League football led to the offer from Bostik, parent company of EVO-STIK, to lend a hand and make sure the job was finished on time.

After a pre-installation inspection by Stockport-based specialists Siteform to lay the floor in the new stadium’s main function room ended with the selection of a full system of subfloor preparation products from Bostik, the contractor suggested club officials might want to let the household brand know what they were planning.

Bostik immediately offered to supply enough product to satisfy the contractor’s needs and dispatched their local technical representative, Stephen Harris, to oversee the installation. He’s pictured with FC United’s business development manager Amanda Tudor and the newly laid subloor.

After suffering a number of delays to the project over the last year, the club’s general manager Andy Walsh hailed the league’s sponsors for stepping in to make sure they had everything they needed.

He said: "Bostik were brilliant. They got back to us immediately, and within a few days had supplied everything needed for the contractors to complete the job to a high standard and on time! We couldn’t ask for a better league sponsor!"

FC United are looking forward to celebrating their tenth anniversary at their new home this summer and as well as the visit of two-time European Cup winners Benfica on Friday 29 May, they are also due to play AFC Wimbledon and host a number of community events before the new season kicks off.
