Former Nantwich Town manager Danny Johnson returns to the touchline as the new manager of Radcliffe Borough on Tuesday night against Curzon Ashton in the semi-finals of the Manchester Premier Cup, hours after the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League club parted company with Bill Prendergast.
Former Crewe Alexandra academy director Prendergast left the First Division North club less than two weeks after arriving as the successor to former Boro boss Paul Maguire.
Johnson, pictured, left the Dabbers last week after just over a year and half in charge at the Weaver Stadium. In a statement released by the club announcing the shake-up, former Trafford assistant manager Wayne Goodison was named as the 38-year-old's number two.
Goodison, who left Trafford following Garry Vaughan's departure from the Premier Division club last month, recently joined Johnson at the Dabbers as his new assistant manager.
In the club's statement, officials at Stainton Park said chairman Bernard Manning is backing the club's experienced new management team to turn around their season and is confident supporters can start looking upwards again.
He also thanked Prendergast for his efforts and wished the experienced coach well following his short spell in charge that had seen him take charge for just two games, a win followed by Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Ossett Albion.
