Ilkeston FC are set to introduce a Bulgarian Under-19 international to Evo-Stik NPL League action when Romulus visit the New Manor Ground on Saturday.
Nottingham Forest have agreed to allow 18-year-old Dimitar Evtimov (pictured) to make a short-term move on work experience to cover for Ben Gathercole’s three-match suspension.
Said manager Kevin Wilson: “I’m really grateful to Forest for agreeing to help us out and hopefully Dimitar will come across and make the same impact that Ben has in his time with us.
“It’s an excellent thing for us that a club like Forest can see the value of allowing their young players to come to Ilkeston FC and add to their football education.
“Dimitar is a bid lad with plenty of presence and I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do.”
Wilson has also been proactive this week in trying to strengthen other areas of his squad and Evtimov may not be the only new player on view this Saturday.
And with Will McCall, Darren Caskey and Joe Maguire all making good progress as they strive to recover from injuries, Wilson knows that choosing a team to take on Romulus could be a happy challenge for him come Saturday afternoon.
