The Cammell Laird FC Squad for the 2012-13 season is starting to take shape and manager Tony Sullivan is well on the way to getting his squad in place for his target of the first week in August.

Jamie Enders returns to the club after spells at Warrington Town and Winsford. We are pleased to welcome back Jamie and hope he can reproduce the flair of previous seasons, working very hard in training we think he has the potential to make a real impact upon his return. Also returning to the club from Prescot Cables are both Joey Gibiluru and John Crouch who are relishing a second spell with Lairds, the return of both of these influential midfielders is a boost to the squad on and off the park.

Another player returning is Lee Atherton, he has been an inspiration over the seasons and we hope Lee continues to steady the team at the back, and the crowd favourite is relishing the new challenge ahead. Elsewhere, three of last seasons influential players have been retained including forward Aaron Bowen, whom re-joined the club last campaign after showing his potential earning two successful moves over the last couple of years. These players, with new faces around them show the air of optimism for the season at Cammell Laird FC is fully justified. With the core nucleus of the squad in place John Riley retains the club captaincy after a great season.

Manager Tony Sullivan had been looking for experience and players of the quality to play Evo-Stick level and had this to say about the new arrivals "Bringing in players of this calibre is a step in the right direction for the club and one which will not only improve the squad but also the results on the pitch, the credit for this must also go to the committee who have allowed us to look at bringing players like the new lads into the squad for the current season". Speaking of the players Sullivan also added "John (Couch) has been at Lairds before and will give us some much needed energy and was my first signing whilst Joe (Gibileru) will bring some much needed guile and was a player who others wanted but decided to come and was one of my primary targets for the season, I have worked with Jamie (Enders) before and he is a threat when he is on his day and will boost the forward line this season"

Lairds first pre-season friendly takes place this coming Saturday (21st July) away at North West Counties side Wigan Robin Park and they are likely to prove a tough test for Tony Sullivan’s side ahead of an intense looking pre-season list.
