The Moatman say they are looking for suitably qualified and experienced candidates at managing at Step 4 of the Non-League Pyramid or higher to succeed Wayne Thornhill who stood down as manager of the EVO-STIK NPL First Division South club on Monday.
In a statement released on Thursday night, Gresley officials say that following the closing of the deadline at 6pm on Friday 2 October a short list will be compiled with interviews held the following Thursday (October 8).
After guiding the club to their first home win of the season on Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over Chasetown at the Moat Ground, former Rocester boss Dave Langston is expected to take charge again as caretaker manager on Saturday when Gresley head to Kidsgrove Athletic in the league.
Thornhill, who succeeded Martin Rowe last term, stood down in the wake of his side's 3-0 home defeat to Shaw Lane Aquaforce last Saturday. That reverse followed a stuttering start to the club's First Division South campaign that had seen the Moatmen win three games away from home but fail to register a point at home.
Thornhill's cause had not been helped by the loss of two key players for the season after striker Keiron O'Connell and defender Mitch Hanson were both ruled out with knee injuries in August.
Applicants should send their full C.V. along with a covering email to vacancies@gresleyfc.com.
