Caption competition returns to tickle fans!

After the success of their Christmas caption competition, the NPL Facebook Group's members have launched a weekly version for fans of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League.

Supporter Lee Burnham collected the inaugural NPL Facebook Christmas Trophy for coming up with the funniest caption to tag a group of typically dejected players with. Now the competition's organisers have given members until 9.30pm on Wednesday 21 January to have another go and do the same for the accompanying pictured of a keeper on his knees!

Fittingly, the first weekly winner from among the NPL Facebook Group's growing army of 4000 plus members will win a pair of size 9 F-Line Black Panther Goalkeeper gloves worth £30.00.

The rules for the competition are once again straight-forward - every supporter gets one go each to submit a caption and the one with the most 'likes' on Facebook is declared the winner.

If there happens to be more than person with the same amount of likes, the winner's name will be pulled out of a hat at random.

The league's social group passed the 4,000 membership milestone in November after being set up back in 2009 by two fans watching an FA Trophy tie between FC Halifax Town and Shepshed Dynamo - ironically now both former EVO-STIK NPL clubs.

Initially known as the UniBond Group, the NPL Facebook has steadily grown to become one of the best supported online communities in football which also has nearly 4,000 followers on Twitter.
