Chantler shows commitment to Ossett

Ossett United full-back Chris Chantler has turned down approaches from clubs in the National League to stay at the club.

Chantler, 28, has had offers from two clubs in National League and National League North, but he has told them he is happy with the Yorkshiremen.

He said: “I have started something here with the lads and I intend on seeing it through. The club is going somewhere and I want to play my part in it at this very special time.

“I have known the manager for some time and when we discussed me coming here I was very keen to see what he was doing. The lads here are amazing, the backroom staff are class and the fans in Ossett are tremendous, this is a great club.”

Chantler came through the youth system at Manchester City, and played in the Football League for Carlisle United, before moving to Scotland with Kilmarnock.

He has since played for Macclesfield, FC United and Spennymoor Town, before joining Ossett earlier this season.
