City of Liverpool confirm new home venue from next season

City of Liverpool have announced that they will play their home games at the DCBL Stadium from next season after entering into a two-year groundshare agreement with Halton Borough Council.

The Purps, currently seventh in the Pitching In NPL West Division, have been without a permanent home ground since their previous groundshare agreement at Bootle's at the Berry Street Garage Stadium was terminated in February.

They played their subsequent home league games against Prescot Cables and Stalybridge Celtic at the DCBL Stadium as the search for a new stadium continued, and they have now managed to secure a permanent base for the next two seasons.

Their recent Liverpool Senior Cup quarter-final against Runcorn Linnets was reversed, meaning it could be played at Linnets' APEC Taxis Stadium.

Subsequent home league games have also taken place at the vanEupen Arena, home of Vauxhall Motors, as was their Liverpool Senior Cup semi-final victory over Tranmere Rovers.

The DCBL Stadium currently plays host to fellow NPL West Division side Widnes FC, as well as semi-professional rugby league side Widnes Vikings.

City of Liverpool, who have won just one of their last six league matches, are currently three points off the play-offs with four games to play.
