The Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's treble winning champions North Ferriby United are to be honoured with a civic reception.

Officials at East Riding of Yorkshire County Council are hosting a civic reception for the Villagers at The Treasure House in Beverley next Tuesday [11 June].

The NPL's champions have had the most successful season in their history, winning the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Premier Division title as well as lifting the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Doodson Sport League Cup and the East Riding Senior Cup.

The reception will be attended by the team’s players, management and sponsors as well as local dignitaries, including Councillor Stephen Parnaby, OBE, leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Les Hare, chairman of North Ferriby United, was delighted to accept the invitation of a civic reception on behalf of the club.

Hare said: "We were absolutely thrilled when we received the invitation and felt honoured that our success was to be acknowledged in this way. Everyone at the club is justifiably proud of our achievement, so it feels extra special to receive such recognition from the council.".

East Riding County Council Chairman, Councillor Claude Mole, said: "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate everyone involved with North Ferriby United for a truly outstanding season and I wish them all the best for the future as they take on the new challenges of the Conference North.

"The football club is an integral part of the North Ferriby community and their popularity is unquestionable given the turnout by supporters and the messages of congratulations received over the past few weeks. North Ferriby’s success adds to a memorable year for football in East Yorkshire and is hopefully a positive sign of further things to come."
