Conference striker Danny Lloyd has signed for Evo-Stik Northern Premier League AFC Fylde.

The 21-year-old Liverpool-based forward, pictured, signed for the Premier Division's Coasters on Friday following his release from Tamworth.

The former Southport and Lincoln City player, who joined the Lambs from Colwyn Bay in January 2013, is Coasters manager Dave Challinor's fifth signing of the summer.

Known at his previous clubs for his lightening fast speed, good delivery and an eye for a goal, Challinor is sure Lloyd will be a big hit with fans and a popular character in the dressing room.

Challinor said: "I'm delighted to announce the signing of Danny, I only became aware of his availability just over a week ago so to be able to conclude a deal is really good news. He's someone we know well and more importantly he knows us from our time at Colwyn Bay."

The Coasters manager, who managed Lloyd at Colwyn Bay, added: "In the past 18 months, he has matured as a player and become a lot more consistent. He was really keen to get sorted out and come back to work with Colin and myself and we think we can help him develop further."

Lloyd is looking forward to kicking off for Challinor's side in the Premier Division.

He said: "I'm happy to have signed up with AFC Fylde for next season. They are a good club with good ambition. I can't wait to get the season started now."
