Colne bolster defensive line

Former Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End academy player Ben Anderson has joined Colne.

The 24-year-old arrives from NWCFL side Longridge Town, having recently overcome a serious injury.

Before that, Anderson featured 13 times for Lancaster City last season and picked up the Chairman’s Player of the Year award.

The no-nonsense defender adds versatility to Phil Brown’s squad and is capable of playing anywhere down the left flank.

Colne are currently 17th in the Pitching In NPL West Division, and Anderson could go straight into contention ahead of Saturday’s home game against current league leaders Macclesfield.
