Competition launched to locate league's best beard!

The NPL Facebook Group want to reward the fan, player or official found to be sporting the best 'charity tash' with one of their 'Movember' t-shirts.

For the fifth season running the NPL Facebook Group's members have been coordinating league-wide efforts among those downing razors this November to help raise funds and awareness for men's health charities.

To help the newly bearded unite and show off their efforts while flagging up their clubs and the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, administrators set up a dedicated network page on the official 'Movember' website at the start of the month and have been selling the prized t-shirts, pictured, to raise extra funds and boost the league's overall total.

Spokesman Bradley Dobson said: "Anyone connected to the league can enter and its all for a good cause. All you have to do whether you're a supporter, player or official is send in a clear facial photo to the link for the competition and we'll pick a winner by the end of the month and send them their shirt."

'Movember' first started in Australia back in 2004 and captured the imagination of men in the UK in 2009. Millions across the globe now take part and last season the whole of the BBC's Match of the Day team ended up being bearded by the end of month as footballers and fans up and down the country got involved.

Over the last four 'Movembers', the 3,000 plus members of EVO-STIK NPL Facebook and their friends, families, colleagues and team-mates have raised more than £35,000 for charity.
