The Yeltz are looking forward to travelling to RAF Cosford in Shropshire on Tuesday 5 December thanks to their links with Kev Barry, the manager of the forces team and a coach at the EVO-STIK League Premier Division club until January.
With the RAF playing clubs all over the world this year to celebrate their centenary, proud officials at the Grove say Barry called Yeltz boss John Hill to arrange the fixture before it was confirmed on Monday.
At least one of Hill's squad will have divided loyalties on the night as midfielder Alexander Woodhouse plays for both sides! The RAF say supporters are welcome to attend the 7.45pm kick-off in Shropshire for free.
Formed towards the end of the First World War on 1 April 1918 following the the amalgamation of the Royal Flying Corps (RFC) and the Royal Naval Air Service (RNAS), the RAF is the oldest independent air force in the world.
Since its formation, the RAF has taken a significant role in British military history, in particular, playing a large part in the Second World War where it fought its most famous campaign to pave the way for the eventual defeat of Hitler's Germany, the Battle of Britain in 1940.
