Despite seeing his side maintain their ten point lead at the top of EVO-STIK League South and stretch their unbeaten start to the season to 16 games on Saturday with victory at Newcastle Town, Carruthers is expecting a battle at Greenwich Avenue after the Daniels hammered Kidsgrove Athletic 4-1 at the Zeeco Stadium.
The Basford boss, pictured, said: “It was a great result and we really worked hard to get a win against very capable opposition. We have now developed a winning mentality that can carry us through difficult situations. Stamford had a great win on Saturday and will be going all out to beat us, We are expecting a very tough game."
Matt Thornhill was a doubt for the 7.45pm kick-off after being forced off with injury in United's 2-1 win at the weekend.
