Dabbers seek green-fingered recruit

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Nantwich Town are looking to make a new signing with green fingers.

The Premier Division’s Dabbers announced on Thursday that they were looking for a new head groundsman or woman to maintain the playing area and surrounds at their Weaver Stadium.

The post at the Cheshire club involves the day-to-day maintenance of the pitch throughout the year as well as matchday preparations, all with the support of other volunteers. The successful candidate would also be expected to work with professional advisers in the field of ground maintenance with the objective of presenting a top class playing surface.

As befits a not-for-profit organisation, the post is voluntary although reasonable expenses will be paid. Dabbers officials say it would suit an ‘enthusiastic person, with some experience in looking after grounds or gardens’.
