Deadline day approaches for commercial role

Potential candidates to become the new commercial manager at Ashton United have seven days left to apply for the post with the EVO-STIK League’s Robins.

The Premier Division club have set a deadline of Monday 30 June 2014 for applications before drawing up shortlist of candidates to interview for the part-time post at Hurst Cross.

Officials say members of the club’s board will support the successful candidate as the club ‘ups it game’ ahead of the new campaign and believe the role could suit a retired or semi-retired person with a selling background. Experience of working within the football, sports, or sales industry would be beneficial but not essential.

Ashton United Director Steve Hobson is leading the recruitment process. He says the hours of work will be flexible and the remuneration package is negotiable.

Hobson said: "Ashton United is seeking applicants for the position of part time commercial manager at the club. The successful applicant will provide new business income for a thriving and ambitious football club, as well as achieving continued support for its current excellent sponsors.

"The key responsibilities are attracting investment in the club by way of sponsorship and other general fundraising activities, including ground advertising, programme advertisements and match sponsorships, together with increasing membership of the club lottery. The successful applicant will also boost income with current advertisers, as well as secure new business."
