Coalville Town's officials have described Cameron Stuart as a 'fantastic servant' after he left the EVO-STIK League's Ravens on Monday.

The 30-year-old, pictured, returned to Owen Street from Belper Town as player-coach last January, having joined the Nailers after a six-year stint with the Leicestershire club.

The left-back told the club he was leaving due to the rigours of competing in the EVO-STIK League and officials paid tribute to their player-coach in a statement announcing his departure.

The club said: "Cam has been a fantastic servant to the club and has provided the supporters with some fantastic memories. Everyone wishes him all the best for the future and thank him for his contribution to some magnificent achievements at Coalville Town."

A technically gifted player who loved getting forward forward for the Ravens, Stuart kicked off his career at York City before moving to Aston Villa for £50,000 as a 17-year old. After injury cut short his professional career, he enjoyed a brief stint at Atherstone Town before moving to the First Division South club where he went on to score 80 times and make 259 appearances.

Stuart was also made the club's captain in 2012 and was voted Supporters’ Player of the Year after the 2012-13 campaign.
