Doodson Cup debut for star defender

Clitheroe manager Paul Moores has signed former Blackburn Rovers defender Callum O'Connor in time for Tuesday night's Doodson Sport Cup Second Round tie at Farsley.

The 21-year-old left-back signed for the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club on Monday ahead of a busy festive period for the Blues.

O'Connor has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under 21 level and spent five years on the books at Rovers, graduating from the club's Academy to the reserve team before joining Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Chorley in March 2011.
