Leek Town manager Lee Casswell is expecting defender George Melling to return to the squad this weekend following the end of work commitments in London over the last three weeks that have kept him out of action, writes Michael Cope.

Casswell had brought in Ilkeston defender Dan Partridge on a month’s loan to cover for Melling who has now assured his manager he will be available for Saturday’s Evo-Stik NPL First Division South trip to Gresley FC.

Melling’s matchday travelling partner Peter Wright has recovered from a calf injury and is also expected to be available after coming on as a substitute in last Saturday’s 5-1 win over Romulus.

Meanwhile, the Blues have announced they are staging a football holiday course on Christmas Eve to give busy parents some last minute time off for Christmas preparations and shopping.

Taking place at the South Moorlands Leisure Centre in Cheadle, the course is open to boys and girls aged 6 and over and runs from 10am until 2pm in the centre’s indoor hall.

All coaches on the four hour £12 course have undergone enhanced CRB checks. For more information email: leektowncommunity@hotmail.co.uk or call Steve Kell on 07826206199.
