Doodson Sport League Cup - Semi Final

Following discussion and consideration by The Cups Committee on the morning of Monday 25th March 2013, the League can now confirm the following:

It was agreed that Witton Albion be removed from the Doodson Sport Cup Competition for Season 2012/2013 for having fielded an ineligible player, namely Michael Powell, in a previous Cup fixture against FC United of Manchester on 19th February 2013. The player was deemed ineligible having already represented Curzon Ashton in a previous round on 27th November 2012.

The committee considered all options and deemed that as FC United of Manchester had not raised any objections following the fixture in which the offence occurred, they should not be reinstated and the Competition does not go back and re-play the previous round due to the time that has lapsed.

The decision was that, in order to maintain the integrity of the Competition, Curzon Ashton be reinstated to play Matlock Town in the semi-final tie to be held on Thursday 4th April.
