Foxes coach holds the fort

Loughborough Dynamo

Loughborough Dynamo have confirmed that coach Dave Clay has taken over as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

The Leicester City Academy coach took up the reins at the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club on Sunday following the departure of manager Scott Clamp and his assistant Scott Machin.

They resigned on Saturday following a meeting at the sixteenth placed Evo-Stik NPL First Division South outfit. Weather permitting, Clay, who has been coaching at the club for more than 18 months and will be assisted by physio Mark Robinson, will take charge of their home game against Market Drayton Town at the Nanpantan Sports ground on Tuesday night.

Clamp took sole charge in February 2011 and leaves with the club's best wishes. On Monday a club spokesman paid tribute to their departed manager and his assistant before wishing Clay well over the final matches of the campaign.

He said: "We thank them for their effort and commitment during their stay and we wish them both every success for the future. The club is pleased that Dave Clay has agreed to take over for the remainder of the season and we wish him well."
