Dynamo dominating the airwaves, again!

If you’re tuning into BBC Radio Leicester’s Non-League Show on Tuesday night don’t be surprised if you hear Loughborough Dynamo featuring prominently.

They’ve been getting regular coverage all season and were on the show again last week before their hard fought 3-2 victory over First Division South rivals Gresley in the Doodson Sports Cup at the Nanpantan Sports Ground.

Listeners heard Dynamo’s press and publicity officer John Bryson being interviewed live at pitch side by presenter Mike McCarthy on their run in the competition and how they’d coped with the atrocious weather of recent weeks.

Bryson, a regular presenter for many years on award winning community station Harlow Hospital Radio and a volunteer member of BBC Radio Essex’s Sports team before moving back to Leicestershire in September 2012, was delighted to be answering questions for once rather than posing them.

After thanking the station for the on-going coverage they’d been receiving along with other Non-League clubs this season on the drive-time show, he said: "It was certainly different to have the tables turned on me! I used to live in Essex and at Harlow Hospital Radio I was studio based. I was also a volunteer with BBC Radio Essex gaining broadcasting experience when I was out and about, covering Non-League football and top level hockey in Essex so I definitely enjoy the spontaneity of live radio work like this."
