Loughborough Dynamo’s local mayor is backing calls for their community to get behind the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League club after making her first official visit to the Nanpantan Sports Ground.

The Mayor of Charnwood, Sandie Forrest, along with her consort Roger Forrest, are pictured being flanked by the First Division South club’s press & publicity officer John Bryson and Evo-Stik NPL Director Tony Shaw before Tuesday night’s 4-2 win for Carlton Town.

Shaw attended the match on behalf of the competition to welcome the local dignitary who left pledging her support for Dynamo.

She said: "I am so glad I was able to attend tonight. It was a great honour to be invited here and Roger and I enjoyed the game very much. I am only sorry the result went the wrong way.

"I would like to ask the residents of Charnwood to support their local teams. In an area such as Loughborough and its surrounds it would be great to see our sports teams better supported through the gates."

Bryson was delighted with the civic support and added: "Sandie is a very active mayor around the borough with a very full diary so we were very pleased we were able to arrange this into her schedule."
