Ellison brings in another EFL star

By David Watters

Liam Collings started on the subs bench for Runcorn Linnets in their 3-1 victory at Skelmersdale United on Bank Holiday Monday after completing his transfer from Fleetwood Town.

The 18-year-old defensive midfielder became the latest Football League player to join the EVO-STIK League West club over the weekend following the earlier arrival of frontman Niall Watson on loan from another League One and former Northern Premier League club, Accrington Stanley.

Previously a member of Liverpool's academy, the teenager was a regular in the U18s at Fleetwood before being released and snapped up by Linnets manager Michael Ellison, pictured, in time for the victory over last season's North West Counties Football League champions.
