Ashforth, pictured, has told the club's fans he is looking forward to winning promotion next season following the club's second from bottom finish and relegation from EVO-STIK NPL First Division North.
Railway are likely to be placed in the Northern Counties East League and delighted officials at Station View say Ashforth is now working on assembling a squad capable of getting off to a good start and coming straight back up.
Ashforth, who was appointed last May after stepping up from assistant manager to Billy Miller after his switch to Tadcaster Albion, said: “When I was offered to stay on at the club, I spoke to a couple of people but it didn't take me long to confirm that I would stay. I want to repay the loyalty shown to me by the club and players.
