The 27-year-old former Brackley Town, Hednesford Town and Worcester City star left on Wednesday, only a couple of weeks after arriving at the War Memorial Ground from EVO-STIK League Premier Division rivals Stafford Rangers after Stourbridge's recent 1-1 home draw with Mickleover Sports.
According to a club statement, Batchelor, pictured in action for Rangers, is stepping down two levels to play for Highgate in the Midland League Premier Division after struggling to cope with the travel involved in the EVO-STIK League's top flight.
The Glassboys said: "We are disappointed to announce that midfielder Richard Batchelor has left the club without making an appearance. Unfortunately, Richard is unable to commit to the travelling required in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier at the moment and subsequently informed boss Gary Hackett."
The club added: "Richard has now signed for Midland League Premier side Highgate United, a club much nearer to his family home. We wish Richard and Highgate all the best for the future."
