The Ducks, who should have been hosting Lincoln City on Sunday before the first round tie was postponed on Friday, have until 10am on Monday to appeal against the Football Association's decision to remove them from the competition for breaching FA Rule E10 during their third qualifying round tie at home to Nantwich Town on Saturday 26 November.
Subject to any appeal, the Dabbers are set to host the National League club on Tuesday night if they are reinstated. As a result of the timescales involved in preparing for the high profile fixture and advice from Cheshire Police, the EVO-STIK NPL's officials have written to the FA's Competitions Department to support the request of both clubs to put back the possible tie by seven days to Tuesday 20 December.
As a result of the decision to support the appeal, the EVO-STIK NPL has also agreed to a further request by the club to host Skelmersdale United in the top flight on Tuesday night in order to reduce the backlog of league fixtures they have built up on the back of their run in the national cup competition.
