Steggles, 24, made 33 appearances last season and was Supporters’ Player of the Year in 2017/18 after coming through the club’s academy.
He told the club’s official website: “I was happy that I was asked to sign a new contract again for next season.
“When Tommy asked me to sign, there was only going to be one answer, because the way he and the team performed last season was amazing and we all want the same feeling again.”
Carlton were fifth in the S/East Division when the season was brought to a premature end, a marked difference to the previous campaign where they had fought relegation.
They won 14 and drew six of their 26 league games.
