The accolade covering September and October is set to be handed out after an online vote to choose the best of eight goals since the start of the NPLFA's new season closes at 7pm on Sunday night.
Students, their friends and families and fans of the NPLFA's 12 clubs are voting on Facebook over the weekend after the goals were filmed by FilmMyMatch, the ground-breaking academy's media partners for the last two years who also produce a weekly Match of the Day style highlights show.
Urging fans to register their choices before the deadline, @NPLFA tweeted on Saturday: Which one is your favourite? Vote now on Facebook.com/NPLFootballAcademy Voting closes Sunday 7pm. Congratulations to all students who have been nominated!"
The first poll of the 2017-18 season started on Friday after the NPLFA's coaches sent their thanks to nearly 200 young players who attended this week's October half-term trials at member clubs to win a place in next year's intake.
The NPLFA was founded with the backing of the Football Association at five pilot clubs in September 2014 to provide career pathways into the football industry with youngsters studying on two year BTEC courses while being trained on a daily basis by UEFA qualified coaches and competing in the NPL Youth League and national competitions like the FA Youth Cup.
Now expanded to 12 member clubs and still the only league-wide academy in English football combining football with further education, the NPLFA is offering its fourth intake of students this season the chance to continue their education to degree level after teaming up with Loughborough College to launch a new higher education partnership.
