Appointed in March following the departure of Mark Shaw, the resignation of former Club boss and Sheffield FC Foundation director Dolby, pictured, after his side's 1-0 defeat at Frickley Athletic on Saturday had been expected after he fulfilled his mission of securing the club's Step 4 status before the final day of the season.
The EVO-STIK League South club's secretary Bill Towning released a statement on Saturday night advertising the vacant post at the BT Local Stadium and outlining the calibre of candidates chairman Richard Tims is hoping to hear from over the coming days as they start planning for the 2018-19 campaign.
The statement read: "The Sheffield FC invites applications for the position of men’s first team manager. Ideally, the successful candidate will have considerable experience of Steps 3/4 of the National League System and will have built up a network of contacts in the local area.
"The new manager will be required to take up the position as soon as possible and take responsibility for player recruitment and the 2018 pre-season programme. Interested candidates should send their applications and cv by email to Richard Tims at chairmanrich@sheffieldfc.com."
