The BetVictor Northern Premier S/East Division side have installed at their ground an advert for Andy’s Man Club, which offers an ever-increasing number of meets up and down the country for men to talk about their problems without judgement or feeling like a burden.
Club Director Ian Cooper said: “Every season we nominate a charities who we try to raise funds for.
“Over the last few years we have helped to raise funds for Marie Curie nurses, Douglas Macmillan hospice amongst other charities.
“This close season we raised money for the Jordan Burndred CRY charity and will continue to do so throughout the season. As part of this a screening day is to be arranged for children from the Kidsgrove area.
“In addition to this we are also creating relationships with Mental Health groups Men United, Callum Destiny and feel that by promoting Andy’s Man Club through social media and other sources it may help someone.
“I have experienced first hand how depression can take hold, my two best friends and step son along with my wife all suffer or have suffered with depression.
“In the future we would like to become a venue for a group such as Andy Man club and will continue to support whenever we can.
“We are planning to publish a monthly newsletter to go out around the area and will include details of both Andy’s Man Club and the CRY charity in that.”
