Doran, pictured in action, extended his current contract at Hope Street until the end of the 2016-17 campaign over the weekend.
Now in his second spell after returning at the start of the campaign following a season away at Droylsden, the 25-year-old became a big favourite with the fans during his first two season spell after signing for former Cables manager Dave Powell.
The striker is sitting third in the First Division North scoring charts with 22 goals so far and current Cables manager Andy Paxton hailed his decision in a statement released by delighted officials at Valerie Park on Monday.
Paxton said: “It’s fantastic that Rob has committed himself to us and extended his current contract until the end of next season. Since taking over in September, Rob has been a key part of the progress we have made as a club both on and off the field.
“By Rob extending his stay at the club, I feel it signals the progress, intent and belief of this football club to move forward. Momentum is sometimes an overused term in football, however there is a genuine belief within the group that we are certainly heading in the right direction – both on the field and off it.”
