The 26-year-old midfielder will swap The Proctor Cars Stadium for the Flamingo Land Stadium after joining Matlock Town in 2021.
He made 62 appearances for the Gladiators, scoring seven times.
The former Buxton and Gainsborough Trinity player was on the radar of Scarborough boss Jonathan Greening prior to his move to the Derbyshire club.
Speaking to the club's website on Wiles' departure, Matlock Town Chairman Jay Beaumont said: "Alex has been a great player for the club, one who we didn’t want to lose.
"We have in fact rebuffed previous offers for him but when higher league clubs come in with what is deemed a very good offer then we have to allow the player to make the decision.
"Alex goes to Scarborough with our very best wishes, we thank him for his outstanding efforts at Matlock Town and wish him all the best in his future career."
It is the second departure in two days for the Gladiators following the exit of manager Craig Elliott to local rivals Buxton.
