Garforth Town, with only one win all season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North, were humbled 9-2 at Church Lane by New Mills on Monday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.
There was no doubting who the Millers hero was on the night – Daniel Douglas-Pringle returning to the side with style and netting five times.
He opened the scoring after less than five minutes had gone on the clock and then Dave Chadwick after 21 minutes and Luke Horrocks on 33 minutes gave the hosts a 3-0 cushion that Fernando Moke reduced to just one with a brace for the Yorkshire side in the 34th and 43rd minutes.
But Roy Soule's side were in awesome form in the second period, Carlos Meakin making it 4-2 just three minutes after the break and then ex-Hyde FC striker Douglas-Pringle completing his hat-trick with goals in the 65th and 73rd minutes.
He then scored two more in the final 15 minutes, sandwiched by a second from Meakin, to make the final outcome 9-2.
