The Ravens should have played at Market Drayton and a crowd of 700 saw Rangers ease to a 3-0 Marston Road win against a fourth-bottom Carlton Town side who had won their previous two games.
George Cater scored twice for Stafford in the 56th and 84th minutes, sandwiching a 66th minute Ben Haseley effort.
Leek Town were the only other side in the top five to record a win, moving above Lincoln United into fifth after winning 2-1 at Ashby Avenue.
Anthony Danylk`s 35th minute penalty was added to by Tim Grice 10 minutes from time, with Rob Norris` reply coming in injury-time at the end of the game.
Third-placed Shaw Lane Aquaforce had to be content with a point from a 1-1 draw at Basford United, whose Stuart Hendrie`s 12th minute opener was cancelled out by Lee Morris` penalty right on half-time.
And fourth-placed Spalding United were beaten 2-1 at Bracken Moor by Stocksbridge Park Steels, whose Joe Lumsden gave them an early third minute lead that Josh Moreman equalised right on half-time. Corey Gregory netted Steels` winner on 67 minutes.
Chasetown moved up to sixth after edging out Loughborough Dynamo by the odd goal in five at the Nanpantan Sports Ground.
Leandro Browne gave the hosts a seventh minute lead that Bamoussa Cisse doubled from the spot on the half-hour mark. But a `game of two halves` saw Simon Brown, also from the spot on 64 minutes, Paul Sullivan on 76 minutes and then George Washbourne a minute from the end, turn the game in the Scholars` favour.
Bottom side Tividale are now a massive eleven points adrift of third-bottom Goole AFC after losing 3-0 at Christchurch Meadow against Belper Town, whose Aaron Cole a minute before the break and then Evan Garnett on 59 minutes and Eric Graves seven minutes from time, were all on the mark.
Kevin Thornton bagged a brace as Rugby Town maintained their decent run with a 2-2 draw at the Lyme Valley Stadium against Newcastle Town, whose Jordan Cole also scored twice in the 35th and 56th minutes – each cancelled out by Thornton on 42 and 77 minutes.
