Radcliffe Borough

Former Crewe Alexandra academy director Bill Prendergast was named as the new manager of EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Radcliffe Borough on Thursday night.

Boro moved quickly to appoint Prendergast, pictured, who's also worked at Manchester city and Macclesfield Town, after parting company with former manager Paul Maguire on Thursday morning.

He left by mutual consent following a run of four straight defeats and only four wins all season for the fourth from bottom Boro after taking over from Kevin Glendon last summer.

Prendergast will take charge for the first time on Saturday when Radcliffe host Kendal Town at Stainton Park.

Boro's new manager is a vastly experienced UEFA A licenced coach with more than 30 years experience working for the Football Association as a coach and mentor to other coaches as well as 17 years as academy director at Crewe Alexandra from 1986 and 2003.

Boro's new manager has most recently been director of coaching at Northwich Flixton villa while working with both the Liverpool and Manchester FAs while studying for a PhD in Football Psychology. For the last 15 years he has also been director of football development and education at Diamond Soccer.
