Nailers take two in double deal

Grantham Town

Grantham Town have allowed keeper Dan Haystead and striker Paul Grimes to join EVO-STIK Northern Premier League rivals Belper Town.

The pair's switch to Christchurch Meadow was confirmed on Thursday after the Nailers made an offer that joint managers Wayne Hallcro and Adams Stevens described as "a good deal for the club".

Striker Grimes, pictured, has had a disrupted season, bagging three goals in 14 appearances, while Haystead has been an ever present since regaining the number one shirt early in the season from Jake Turner.

In a statement released by the Gingerbreads, officials said the managerial pair had thanked both players for their services. They also revealed that they had moved quickly to replace Haystead by bringing Turner back to club he had started the season with from First Division South Rainworth Miners Welfare.
