Chesterfield were relegated from the Football League after nearly 100 years at the end of last season, and famously reached the FA Cup semi-finals in 1997.
The draw was made at Wembley by George Dorling, chairman of The FA National Game Competitions committee, and non-League aficionado Tony Incenzo, and was broadcast live on talkSPORT 2, with seven EVO-STIK League teams still with interest in the competition.
Of the Northern Premier League clubs involved, Premier Division sides Workington and Lancaster City landed home draws, though the Dolly Blues must navigate a replay with Guiseley to set up a meeting with Blyth Spartans.
Workington will host EVO-STIK League opposition in Pickering Town or Ramsbottom United, who play each other in a replay this week.
Guaranteed their place in the first round are Farsley Celtic, who travel to AFC Telford United, beaten by Farsley’s division rivals Warrington Town in the FA Cup earlier this season.
EVO-STIK East Division Stamford’s prize if they can get past Barwell in a replay is a trip to former NPL club Spennymoor Town.
The first round is scheduled for Saturday 15 December with winning clubs receiving £6,000 from The FA prize fund.
The Final will be staged at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 19 May 2019.
