Fair play Blues honoured

Jungledrum Fair Play Awards

Clitheroe manager Paul Moore is leading his second place Blues on a title challenge so far this season but he'll be just as proud of the way they're going about their business.

On Tuesday night Moore's side won again with a 2-0 Evo-Stik NPL First Division North victory over Trafford and before kick off the manager and Blues Secretary Colin Wilson picked up the club's divisional Jungledrum Fair Play Award.

Moore is pictured alongside the Evo-Stik NPL's Respect Manager Phil Bradley, left and Jungledrum's David Lunn, right, collecting the club's prize for being the best behaved team in Evo-Stik NPL First Division North.

Like Nantwich manager Jimmy Quinn who collected the Premier Division's Jungledrum Fair Play Award on Saturday, Moore and the club won a bottle of Famous Grouse Whiskey and an inscribed Jungledrum certificate recording Clitheroe's achievement.

Moore hailed his players for the turnaround they've made to the club's disciplinary record since he took over with assistant manager Dave Hughes this season.

Last year the Blues recorded one of the worst records in the league, racking up unwanted fines for the club and he said: "Winning was a team effort and a fantastic acheivement from the great bunch of lads we have here. What almost pleases me most is the way they've reversed the club's disclipinary record so quickly.

"It is something that Dave Hughes and I have spoken to them about from the start and they delivered. We've told them to play and behave in the right way and they've done that. They're concentrating on the important things they have to do on the pitch and applying themselves so we are very proud of them and what they've achieved so far."

Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Kings Lynn won their division’s honours and will be presented with their award on Saturday week when they play Northwich Victoria.

The three clubs scooped their honours after topping their respective division's fair play tables. Each came out on top after a totting up of red and yellow cards divided by the number of Evo-Stik NPL fixtures they’d played during August and September.

Clitheroe can also lay claim to be the league's best behaved outfit after winning the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North award with a score of 0.50, the lowest of the three sides. Their nearest rival in Evo-Stik NPL First Division North were Lancaster City on 0.57.

Nantwich won with an average of just 0.89 points from nine games played, their nearest rivals coming from Blyth Spartans and FC United of Manchester with 1.00 each.

In Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Kings Lynn Town won with a rating of 0.57, with another team new to the Evo-Stik NPL, Gresley Rovers, close behind on 0.67 along with Mickleover Sports.

The awards were made after the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League entered into a three year agreement with Jungledrum in August to reinforce the league’s reputation as one of the most forward thinking in English football by supporting fair play and the Football Association’s ongoing Respect campaign.

Marketing and advertising specialists Jungledrum harness their online expertise to open new income streams for the league's clubs while securing fans money saving deals. Jungledrum's David Lunn is delighted that the first winners are being honoured after starting work this season helping clubs to boost their finances.

He said: "The team at Jungledrum are delighted to sponsor these awards. Jungledrum is all about delivering a fair deal for fans, for clubs and for businesses so helping to promote fair play among players and clubs by sponsoring the league’s fair play awards is another fantastic opportunity for us.

"Every club in the league now has its own Jungledrum page and, as the season progresses, we will be working with every club to bring more fantastic offers and promotions to supporters and give a boost to local businesses and the clubs themselves."

The Jungledrum Fair Play Tables will soon be available throughout the season via a hyperlinked logo on the league's official site. For more information on Jungledrum and the work they are doing to open new and no risk income streams for Evo-Stik NPL clubs visit jungledrumdeals.co.uk.
