February's Jungledrum Fair Play Awards

The only surprise when February’s Jungledrum Fair Play Awards were announced on Friday was that last season's FA National Fair Play and Respect Awards winners AFC Fylde had waited so long to win their first monthly honour of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League campaign.

Thanks to win, the Coasters also top the season's overall table in the Premier Division after overtaking previous leaders FC United of Manchester.

In Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Chasetown still top the season to date table despite Ossett Albion's taking the month's honours. Harrogate Railway Athletic's well behaved squad also hold onto top spot in Evo-Stik NPL First Division North after Ossett Albion took February's accolades.

Like all monthly winners, February's best behaved clubs receive an inscribed Jungledrum commemorative certificate and a 1.5 litre bottle of Famous Grouse Whiskey courtesy of the sponsors, their rewards for coming out on top in a totting up of red and yellow cards divided by the number of Evo-Stik NPL fixtures they'd played. Where clubs are tied on points, marks awarded by referees over the month for Technical Area behaviour are taken into account.

AFC Fylde will be the first club to be honoured next Saturday when they take on Eastwood Town at home, League Secretary Angie Firth making the presentation alongside David Lunn from sponsors Jungledrum.

AFC Fylde, consistent in keeping cards to a minimum all season, excelled themselves last month with the lowest disciplinary score average of 0.80 in the five games they played to come out on top as the division's best behaved side. Manager Dave Challinor and Colin Woodthorpe led by example, with the pair also heading the tables for Technical Area behaviour across all three divisions.

Ossett Albion's presentation as Evo-Stik NPL First Division North winners takes place three days later on Tuesday 12 March before their home game against Leek Town, League Representative Mark Ogley joining Jungledrum's Lunn to make the presentation.

The Unicorns, who parted company with joint managers Lloyd Fellows and Paul Watson this week, are up to fourth in the season's overall table behind leaders Harrogate Railway Athletic after racking up a disciplinary score of just 0.83 from the six games they played.

Ogley and Lunn are also due to make the final presentation to First Division South winners Sheffield on Saturday week, March 16, when they host Newcastle Town. Sheffield are still in midtable in their fair play table but earned their first monthly accolade by recording the best disciplinary score across all three Evo-Stik NPL divisions of just 0.71 from seven games played.

Marketing and advertising specialists Jungledrum harness their online expertise to open new income streams for the league's clubs while securing fans money saving deals. The Jungledrum Fair Play Tables are available throughout the season via a hyperlinked logo on the league's official site.

Jungledrum's Lloyd Bantleman said: "Jungledrum is delighted to be associated with the Jungledrum Fair Play award as integrity and fair plays lies at the heart of our business ethos. We are working with clubs across the league to help them develop a measurable income stream that gives their business supporters a fair return on investment with the club."
