Fans are best in league

Nantwich Town

Nantwich Town striker Simon Everall was full of praise for Dabbers fans following Monday's defeat at Ilkeston FC, calling them as the best in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, writes Robert Summerscales.

Jimmy Quinn's men were beaten 3-0 at the New Manor Ground and Everall hailed the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division outfit's travelling supporters for continuing to back their side relentlessly to the final whistle.

Many were still singing upbeat songs and chanting throughout the second half despite their side needing a three goal comeback to even rescue a draw and the impressed forward said: "The fans were fantastic. Fairplay to them. They have been brilliant all season and they are definitely among the best in the league.

"Despite it being an away fixture on a Monday night they still managed to turn up in force and out-sing the home fans. Their support means such a lot to the players. It gives us that extra motivation to keep going, especially when things aren't going our way."
