Red noses for Reds Day!

Chorley are planning to paint the town red in the name of Comic Relief on Saturday week for the visit of Buxton, writes Josh Vosper.

To coincide with the launch of the club's new third kit, the Magpies have designated their home game against The Bucks on March 16 as 'Red Day' and are ditching their traditional black and white strip for a red one after being given special dispensation by Evo-Stik Northern Premier League officials to back Comic Relief's Red Nose Day.

Chorley manager Garry Flitcroft is pictured with Mark Parr from Galaxy Football and two Magpies-mad lady fans modelling the new third kit to publicise the event.

In a bid to attract more families to Victory Park on the day, the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division outfit have also announced details of a 'Dad and Lad for a Fiver' offer - and anyone turning up in red for the match will also get a free Comic Relief Red Nose!

A number of other attractions are also being planned for the family fun day and the club say they'll be donating £5 from every sale of their new red kit to the popular charity which raises millions annually.

A club spokesman said: "We're a community based club and we are trying to do as much as we can to attract more families to the Chorley Group Victory Park on matchdays. We thought this was a fun way of getting our fans involved in Comic Relief.

"The idea is we want people to come to the game wearing red, not only to show their support for Comic Relief but also for the team as they will also be wearing red on the day. It's a good way of showing we are all in this together. And as an extra incentive to entice people on the day, we're admitting one adult and one child for a fiver."
