Fan's firm sponsors away kit

DJ Drinks have been unveiled as the new sponsors of Corby Town's away kit for the 2016-17 EVO-STIK Northern Premier League season after the former steel worker who founded the leading drinks company renewed his links with his hometown club.

Owned by former steel man Terry Bates, a Corby-born and bred businessman who lived in the town for 35 years before relocating 17 years ago, DJ Drinks have depots in Warrington, Leeds and Newcastle as the leading supplier of soft drinks, high end equipment, post mix, hot drinks and wine in the North of England.

The Steelmen are pictured showing off their newly sponsored kit for the first time before beating a Leeds United XI 3-0 at Steel Park. After 10 years of successful growth, Bates is hoping that returning to his roots will boost his firm's appeal in the wider market sectors across the North and Midlands.

Bates said: “I am a football man and was proud to have played for both Corby Town youth and Corby Town reserves so I am very happy to be able to support my home town club. DJ Drinks is named after my two sons Daniel and Jamie, who are both Corby-born and we still have a very strong connection with the town."

A spokesman for the EVO-STIK NPL Premier Division newcomers said: "On behalf of everybody at Corby Town Football Club we would like to thank DJ Drinks for their continued support, having sponsored our first team shorts last season, and we look forward to a successful 2016-17 together."

With a wealth of experienced people within the business, DJ Drinks serve over 1000 customers including hotels, restaurants, pubs, golf and tennis clubs, cafeterias, nightclubs, social clubs and other leisure-based locations as well as in education and healthcare, working closely with brand partners Coca Cola, Pepsi, Kenco and Douwe Egberts.
